The effect that eyebrows and lashes have on your appearance is amazing. Can you think of a single facial feature that expresses emotion more dramatically?  With all the attention paid to hair and makeup, people often don’t realize how brows and lashes impact their appearance.  Don’t settle for "getting waxed".  Your brows deserve the same kind of consultation and attention you expect for your hair.

You can use the shape of your brows to counter balance face shape and compensate for wide set or close set eyes.  You can make a round face look slimmer, a long face look shorter and an angular face look softer. You can use your brows to compliment your best facial feature, or divert attention from one you don’t love.  You can pick from looks that are sexy, sophisticated, intelligent, mysterious, innocent and more. You can have the brows of your favorite celebrity if your natural growth patterns permit it.

The first step to getting that perfect brow is to understand your face shape.  Next, decide if there are any features you want to play up or play down, then pick the perfect shape and inside termination for your goals.  Here’s where our brow specialists can really help.  They understand what goes into selecting your shape and they can help you work toward the look you want, taking into account the constraints of your natural hair growth patterns.  They can also recommend makeup tips to help you make the most of what nature gave you.  We have included a little primer on brow shaping below. We invite you to come in and talk with our aestheticians to learn more.

BASIC BROW SHAPES

Softens the face and helps to tone down harder features such as pointed chin or angular bone structure.
Draws people's gaze upward, tends to add youthfullness and works well with strong jaw, diamond or round face shapes. There is a thing as too much peak though, so be careful.
Similar to the Hard Angled, but with a slightly softer, more subtle look.
This shape lends a confident, professional look and is good for oval or square face shapes.
The flat brow works wonders for long face shapes, because of it's horizontal line. It tends to make the face look shorter and more oval.

BROWS FOR VARIOUS FACE SHAPES - happy face is the best brow for the face, sad face...not so good.

The oval face is the most forgiving when it comes to brow and offers the most flexibility with brow shaping. Try to stay away from strongly peaked hard angled brows though. Because your face may appear "soft", a hard angled brow with too much peak may make you look "shocked" or mad.
The diamond shaped face is typically broad across the cheekbones or eyes which can be offset by arch in the brow, drawing the gaze of other people upward. Stay away from a flat brow which will tend to widen the face even more.
The long face often needs to be visually shortened, which can be accomplished with the horizontal line of a flat brow. Stay away from high arches which will only make your face look taller.
With a heart shaped face or a pointed chin, you may want to go with a soft rounded brow to balance things out and draw attention away from a "pointed" chin. A flat horizontal brow is often the worse choice, because it does nothing to counterbalance the point of the chin.
The challenge with a round face to is make it seem taller. This is best accomplished with an arching brow that has some, but not too much angle. Avoid a smoothly rounded or flat brow in most cases.
Square faces tend to look so because of a strong angular jaw line. Your goal with this shape is to soften the overall face and draw attention upward away from the jaw. This can be done using either a soft angled brow or a curved brow with a good bit of arch. Stay away from a subtle curve without much arch or a flat brow.
